Frome Skatepark Project
A new skatepark for Frome is a step closer to reality. A draft design has been created, the final design is in the works - now we need the community to get on board with fundraising efforts.
The Frome Skatepark project is a story about young people, community spirit and what can happen when a town really listens. From early chats on the ramps to packed skate jams and powerful speeches from young people at council meetings, this project has grown because people care deeply about this space and the young people who use it.
It’s been shaped by skaters, riders, families, volunteers, councillors and supporters, all working together to create something special for Frome. As we move into the final design phase, please join us as we fundraise to create the best skatepark we can for Frome.

Phases
Planning and engagement
This project began a long time ago, with young people who use the skatepark raising their concerns that the current space was aging and no longer fit their needs. The call for a new skatepark was led by Frome's strong community of skaters, riders and others who use the skatepark as a space to find connection - and this community remains at the heart of the project.
Over the last couple of years, volunteer-led group Frome Skatepark Project and Frome Town Council have been talking to people who use the skatepark and who visit Mary Baily and Victoria Park to understand the needs and concerns of everyone involved. We've hosted Skate Jams to engage with skaters and riders in a fun way, visited other skate parks that are doing things well, and talked to the wider community both in-person and online to explore ideas and move forward in a way that creates a safe, vibrant and inclusive space.
