Rachel 1 month ago Road closures for festivals and parades on a Saturday (our main trading day) have become more frequent. Access to properties and shops in Cork Street for cars needs to be considered. Whilst the independent market is easier to manage due to it being a Sunday when we don’t usually trade, closures on a Saturday are more difficult to manage for staff, customers and deliveries that need to access our car park (e.g. we keep stock off site and transfer it back and forth on a Saturday, as well as customers using our rear entrance to collect large items). At a minimum providing road closure notices to all businesses would be helpful (we didn’t receive any notice of more recent closures or events) however additional access points are needed to avoid negative impacts to trading.
