Access to Frome is currently appalling.
There are no complete cycle routes or pavements from surrounding areas.
The bus service is patchy and occasional.
Most people have no choice but to arrive by car but there is insufficient parking and what there is is expensive. All routes in are partially blocked by residential parking.
The resulting traffic is congested which cases frustrated drives which makes it even more dangerous for pedestrians and cyclists.
Suggestions:
create a clear through route for vehicles with good parking which has easy access to town
pedestrianise the market place
create clear cycle/shared access routes around town
create paths/cycle routes (preferably away from roads) from nearby villages and ideally towns
Part of the problem is that most people want to drive to the supermarkets….
i wish there were easy solutions!
