Villages West of Frome

The villages West of Frome should be included in this consultation, given how far the consultation spreads North and South of the town. Stoke St Michael, Leigh on Mendip, Cranmore, all have many Frome families living in them who travel into Frome for school, daycare, health services, and groceries daily. We would welcome more regular bus routes, and also safer cycling options into Frome.

Thanks for your comment. We appreciate that there are many people outside the area of the Vale of Frome Local Community Network (LCN) that travel to Frome or other nearby villages regularly and rely on them for work, school or essential services. On this map and the survey we welcome comments about public transport and walking and cycling routes that go to/from or through the Vale of Frome area, even if they start/end further afield.
The LCNs are established networks that enable towns and parishes to work together. We hope that our Movement and Place Plan process can be used as a model for other LCNs to look at issues and needs around transport in their own areas. Cranmore, Leigh upon Mendip and Stoke St Michael are all within the Shepton LCN - we would encourage you to contact your Somerset Councillor to ask for a similar project to be undertaken where you are.
Details of the Shepton LCN can be found here: https://lcn.somerset.gov.uk/local-community-networks/local-community-network-areas/shepton/
