There is nowhere to safely cross the road here or even nearby - to reach the nearest crossing is a significant detour with steep hills

I have seen on several occasions vehicles go the wrong way down the roads at this junction. It is extremely dangerous with traffic approaching from Xchurch street W too fast, often not signalling. All this area should be permanently 20mph with speed tables to make sure traffic cannot speed and pedestrians can safely cross. The 20mph zone needs vastly extending in all directions. With traffic calming. If this had been in France it would have been done long ago. I reckon they would have paved the road from the mini roundabout and down each fork of the junction at least. Anything that can be done to give pedestrians greater priority in this location will be better than it is now.

Speed table traffic calming needed here and elsewhere nearby. Extend the 20mph limit to beyond the zebra crossing on Xchurch St W (with speed tables), to junction with Keyford traffic lights, to the zebra crossing on the Butts and east to the Lidls roundabout, down Vicarage Street and King Street. With speed tables.
