Underpass under A361
From "Interactive map: add your concerns and ideas"
Go to the project
This old cow underpass under both the railway line and the A361 was to be used as a cycle route and footpath to enable safer access to land outside the Frome bypass.
This was included in the plans for the Outline planning permisson for Edmund Park but was allowed to drop at later stages

It will not be used by a lot of people on cycles. Our main routes out of Frome to the south will remain Feltham Lane, Little Keyford Lane (to Tytherington) and Vinney Lane (to Tytherington). Also the land by the river is in the floodplain and should not be tarmaced - and it will flood and the surface deteriorate as well as outrageously expensive. More important and realistic is to have a 40mph all along the bypass with speed cameras and warning signs at each crossing point - this includes the three I have mentioned as well as where public footpaths cross the bypass. E.g. to Styles Hill
