Speed & Safety Issues

From "Interactive map: add your concerns and ideas"

Nunney Parish Council recently drove / implemented a 20mph zone in Nunney, which is fantastic, but this is not followed by the traffic moving through the village. The sprayed 20 mph signs on the road are not enough to discourage drivers. I live on the High Street where there is no pavement, and cars regularly drive at more than 50 mph along the road. I have been hit by wing mirrors on my own front door step and my neighbour has had two cats run over by speeding drivers. I wish to request speed monitoring boards on the high street, especially on the stretch climbing the hill as drivers accelerate here. In addition, we do still have large quarry lorries which come through the village rather than using the bypass. I would like to consider implementing a height or weight limit for lorries - or another way of deterring them from coming through the village - as often the vibrations disturb the whole terrace I live on.
