Safer streets is an excellent idea, but is not succeeding on Park Road around school times. Published data collected in 2025 shows traffic reducing only in the short term, with a steady increase after a modest improvement in the first month. The scheme needs salvaging with some proper enforcement or at least another PR campaign. Better still, narrow the road to one lane and add a green verge and a cycle path.
