The best way to get bees and wildlife you need highly pollenated flowers.
You need flowers with wetter nectar you don't need wild weed areas (ragwort and pernicious weeds). The green areas of Frome are a mess. EG the road verges and roundabout by Asda and along Clink are 2 examples of this message. It makes the town look unkempt.
Our garden with loads of perennials and some annuals is full of pretty flowers and attracts bumblebees and numerous insects plus we get Hedghogs.

I disagree regarding the green areas of Frome being 'a mess' and 'unkempt'. I think we are all used to green spaces being designed by humans to be attractive rather than designed with nature in mind, such as through formal private and public gardens. No doubt we can find ways to achieve a compromise, but personally I like the 'wilder' road verges. Provided they are cut back to ensure visibility on roads I like them the way they are.

Agree. One of the biggest misconceptions in pollinator conservation is that "more wildflowers = more bees. Flower-rich planting is important, but it is only one part of creating a functioning pollinator ecosystem. If Frome Town Council wants to become genuinely pollinator-positive, habitat quality rather than flower quantity is key to ensure continuous nectar and pollen through the whole year.
