No pavement for pedestrians walking to Selwood School

From "Interactive map: add your concerns and ideas"

Go to the project

After decades since the school was built, there is still no pavement for pedestrians walking along the Vine Tree side of Berkley Road to Selwood School.

On most of this stretch there is still space to construct a pavement on the verge but it is self -evident that over the years, the boundaries of many of the properties have gradually moved closer to the edge of the road and/or the hedges have grown to encroach onto this valuable strip of land. Somerset Council should take action to regain control of this strip in order that a pavement can be constructed. This measure could greatly increase the number of children walking to school, improve road safety and cut down on traffic at peak hours.
