Free parking

Provide a free parking scheme whereby anyone can benefit by getting their parking for free if they buy something from a shop. A parking stamp scheme or something similar. We need to encourage people to use the shops and other facilities we already have and parking fees deter people from coming, especially when out of town shopping parking is free.

Please will the council consider imposing residents parking for part of Welshmill Road now that North Parade car park is unavailable. As a local I’d pay for such a scheme. A free for all won’t do for locals sadly.

@Charles Berridge Hi Charles, matters relating to on-street parking are decided by Somerset Council. Our own Planning Manager at Frome Town Council, Jane Llewellyn, hasn't heard anything to suggest that Somerset Council are considering a residents parking scheme for Welshmill Road and so we suggest you contact Somerset Council.
