Access from Cloford to Long Lane

From "Interactive map: add your concerns and ideas"

Go to the project

Cloford is a totally isolated village. We can only access our local parish of Wanstrow by car. If there access from Cloford to the top of Long Lane this would connect Cloford not only to Wanstrow but countless villages beyond via the lane systems. Allowing walking and cycling.

This bit of road is notoriously dangerous so likely a fenced pavement/ pathway would be required within the verge or very top edge of the field.

Consideration should also be given for a small bit of pavement the other side of the road to link the smaller side of Cloford (Cloford Common) the the village safely.

I totally agree with the above comments. Cloford is a very isolated community with no amenities for the community to come together apart from the church. It is therefore even more vital to be able to access our local parish village of Wanstrow to use the shared facilities. We can only currently do this by car as the road from Cloford to the lanes is too dangerous to walk or cycle. We then have nowhere to park once in Wanstrow and told off by parish council/village hall committee for parking in the village hall carpark when visiting and shamed on the local village Facebook group displaying photos of our vehicles and being told to move them. If we could ride bikes or walk we would love too!
