Frome Area Movement and Place Plan

Better connections, safer streets, thriving places

We're developing a new plan to improve how people travel around Frome and the surrounding parishes, in partnership with Somerset Council and local partners.

Over the coming months, there will be opportunities to share your views on walking, wheeling, cycling, public transport, road safety, accessibility, parking, and connections between villages, Frome and nearby towns.

The plan will identify priorities for improving transport, streets and public spaces so they work better for everyone. It will look at how people access jobs, schools, healthcare, shops and other everyday destinations, both within Frome and across the wider Vale of Frome area.

We want to understand how you travel now, the challenges you experience, and what changes would make the biggest difference to your daily life.

Follow this project using the Follow button at the top-right of the page and we'll let you know as soon as new surveys, events and other opportunities to have your say are available, both online and in person.

What area does the Movement and Place Plan cover?

Because connectivity, services and infrastructure between the parishes surrounding Frome is so important, the Movement and Place Plan covers what is known as the Vale of Frome Local Community Network (LCN) area.

Why do we need a Movement and Place Plan?

The Frome Area Movement and Place Plan will help identify challenges and set out a shared, long-term plan to improve connectivity, safety and travel choices across Frome and the surrounding parishes. But we need your help to shape the plan!
